Plastic is a material with manifold possibilities in medical technology and life sciences. It can be used for disposable products (injections, tubes), for implants and prosthesis or as parts for medical instruments. Throughout all application areas quality control and the validity of the process in medical technology is of great importance.

Experts from the Euregio Meuse-Rhine area inform about current trends and challenges of plastic processing for medical devices:

• IKV Institute for Plastics at RWTH Aachen University (D) is Europe’s leading research and training institute in the field of plastics technology
• Sirris (B) is the collective centre for and by the technological industry
• IMEC (B) is one of the largest research centres for nano- and microelectronics in Europe

Besides the keynote speeches, brief pitches will be organised, where small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and knowledge providers present themselves, their ideas and what they are looking for.
