On the 9th and 10th of May 2017, a very successful 11th Biomedica took place in TU Eindhoven. Biomedica is the leading interdisciplinary summit in life sciences and health in the Euregio Maas-Rhine.
More than 800 participants visited the euregional event which offered a broad programme of top-class specialist presentations of industry and science and more than 40 interesting pitches as well as four discussion panels on current topics such as “Smart Diagnostics” or “Regenerative Medicine”.

In the exhibition, 65 exhibitors in the fields of biotechnology, medical technology and pharmaceutical industry presented their latest products, services and technologies. An excellent opportunity to experience new developments at first-hand.
There were furthermore numerous opportunities for investors, start-ups, established companies and scientists, but also for university graduates and job seekers from Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and from around the world to exchange ideas and to network with each other.

The Ralf Raue Awards were presented for the first time at this year’s Biomedica for particularly innovative collaboration between science and business. The Aachen-Maastricht Institut für Biobased Materials (AMIBM) was honored in the field of Life Sciences.

This year there was as well a poster session with 70 poster presentations which have been evaluated by a professional jury. A total of four posters were awarded with the Biomedica Poster Award 2017. Two posters of the Aachen-Maastricht Institute for Biobased Materials (AMIBM) received this award in the field of biotechnology and pharmacology.

MedLife e.V. presented itself together with its members BYTEC Medizintechnik, Mecore Medizintechnik, GfPS and Forschungszentrum Jülich at the MedLife booth.
